Salla Ikonen (1985) is one of Finland’s most well known female street artists.
She paints street art, custom murals and canvases with various techniques. Her dreamlike, colorful murals often include portraits of people, animals and nature. Her aim is to create more vibrant, peaceful and beautiful surroundings into the suburbs and places that are otherwise lacking color and emotion. She has been painting in various locations in Finland and in Europe for example in UK, Estonia, Israel, Greece, Spain and also in Russia.
Her biggest works in Finland can be found from the Railway station of Myyrmäki, centre of Mikkeli and all around Vantaa. She has held solo show at Helsinki City Hall gallery and participated in group exhibitions at Artsi which is Finland’s national street art / graffiti museum. She has also taken part at Malta Street Art Festival 2015 and Upfest 2016. During the long Finnish winter she’s busy with custom painting works including restaurants and other indoor spaces.
