Gare de l’Est presents the first painters of the Berlin Wall as well as international artists.

“Art Freedom – the Berlin Wall in Street Art “is a project led by SNCF in partnership with Paris City Hall, the City Hall of the 10th district with the contribution of Sylvestre Verger Art Organization (SVO Art), owner of a collection of extraordinary pieces of the Berlin Wall. This event is the first act of a joint project to improve liaison between the neighborhoods of Paris-Est and Gare de Paris-Nord / Magenta. This exhibition at the Gare de L’Est, hyphen between France and Germany, will allow a wide audience to discover new works inspired by the freedom movement following the destruction of the Berlin Wall. ”
Three artists have been working since March 28, 2015 on a fresco of several tens of meters rue d’Alsace in Paris. These precursors of street art were the first to be painted on the Berlin Wall in 1984. Today, as part of the exhibition “Art Freedom – From the Berlin Wall to Street Art”, they come to produce or reproduce works iconic, inspired by the freedom movement following the destruction of the Wall.
