Rustam Qbic, SAME84, Monstfur, Collective Licuado and Alfalfa, David de La Mano and Pablo S. Herrero for Monumental Art 2015. The biggest in Poland, and probably worldwide, integrated gallery of murals is placed in Zaspa estate in Gdańsk. During this year’s edition of Monumental Art Festival Each day counts Rustam Qbic, SAME84, Monstfur, Collective Licuado i Alfalfa, David de La Mano and Pablo S. Herrero added their works to the collection. Their total height is around 140 metres and their total area around 1 750 square metres. All international artists painted in Poland for the first time.
The first murals were created in Zaspa thanks to Rafał Roskowiński, who organised in 1997 the international festival of murals commemorating the 1000th anniversary of Gdansk. The idea of creating a collection of murals in Zaspa returned in 2009 in the context of Gdansk bidding for the title of the European Capital of Culture 2016. Since then there are 54 monumental paintings on Zaspa and Monumental Art Festival is organised by City Culture Institute.
