Here is the latest work Alessio “Bolo” Bolognesi painted in Sardinia for the festival “Non solo murales di San Gavino Monreale”, a project organized by the Cultural Association Skizzo in San Gavino Monreale. Now in its fourth year, the project is reaching an ever-increasing number of followers, also demonstrating the quality of the invited artists.Alessio “Bolo” Bolognesi has signed the mural number 45 with his work that is part of his current project called “nature defends nature” … nature defends itself to survive from destruction. Animals and plants therefore defend each other to preserve the ecosystem. An ecologic message in an era marked by the loss of biodiversity and continuous damages perpetrated to the ecosystem itself.
In the mural made for Skizzo Association, the deer and the bees defend the local strawberry trees, and their rare and wild Sardinian autochthonous fruits. The deer looks at the observer with a “warrior” look. At the same time the bee has the sting facing out and ready to attack. The two lie back to back as if they also want to defend each other. The bees are also among the major architects of the conservation of plant biodiversity and we know that in some rural areas they are disappearing.
