Latest work of the Portuguese duo Halfstudio in Spain for the Festival Asalto! The art duo presented a mural with a great sentence, written “Take care of what you got and fight for what you want”, in a dynamic and colourful way. This piece was inspired by the work developed by Manuel Vazquez, one of the first persons to introduce collaborative murals in Oliver neighbourhood in Zaragoza as a way to raise awareness for the social problems of that area. The phrase was found in one of the social and community murals that were painted in the 90s by the Oliver neighbourhood residents along with Manuel Vazquez.
The geometric shapes were inspired by the patterns found in the domes of the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza.
This edition of Festival Asalto began to work in May 2018 in the Zaragoza Oliver neighbourhood through participatory processes and collaborative workshops in which numerous entities and neighbours associations were part, along with guest artists, of the process or the final result of the transformation of their spaces.
