The latest urban art intervention by the street art duo Motorefisico took place in the framework of the 8th edition of Antonio Giordano urban art award, (Premio Antonio Giordano), in Santa Croce di Magliano (Italy).
The artwork, entitled “The Slash”, has been made on two facades of a private building, in the heart of downtown Santa Croce di Magliano. The inclination of the two facades made it possible to create two different optical effects that merge at the intersection with one of the windows, thus giving the composition a remarkable kinetic and 3d effect.
MOTOREFISICO is an artistic duo composed of Lorenzo Pagliara and Gianmaria Zonfrillo, both architects and designers based in Rome. They work in the field of interior design, video art and installation art.
“Composition is our religion; we work hard in defining the best drawing for any given space. We develop our geometric compositions directly on the surface by creating a huge stencil with tape; this allows us to create shapes perfectly adapted to the place they are located […]. Motorefisico is a huge art container. We try to express our creativity using a wide range of medias. We use tape as a stencil for painting. For our installation art we use Lycra and wood lamps to create tridimentional wireframe spaces […]”.
