Taquen together with Espacio 75 ART GALLERY presents the exhibition SOLILOQUIO, a project conceived as a narrative in three phases, which introduces the public to a personal process undergone by the artist over the last few years.
During the period of the exhibition, a mural intervention will take place next to the gallery.
LOCATION: Calle Pilar de Zaragoza 76, Avda America.
The exhibition proposal loaded with symbolism appropriates the space, building through images on canvas, drawings, silkscreens and ceramic pieces a “path” towards reunion and becoming again.
All the pieces are unpublished, most of them pictorial in nature and made throughout 2023 expressly for this exhibition.
In keeping with the artist’s philosophy of life, most of the materials used in his work have been produced by different artisans who apply traditional techniques such as ecoprint or the use of fibers such as hemp or nettle and natural dyes.
“The last few years of profound experiences have generated a turning point in my life. Converting this journey into a reflection that can be read through the creative process itself. Images of a personal path shared in three phases. A journey that begins in the individual, in the self, marked by loneliness, tension and fear. A triggering point caused by rhythm, immediacy, self-demand, stress, anxiety, and lack of confidence in myself same. The inevitable outcome of which was a total loss of vitality, motivation and enjoyment. A painful process that culminates in a chaotic and critical vertex, to give way to the acceptance of vulnerability”
An awareness that implied the need to stop, reflect and return to a kinder and more flexible path. A conscious exit (not without scars), social and shared. A reunion and a balance. All of this has generated in me a new perspective linked to the present and the environment, artistically represented in the union and dialogue between art and crafts.
“A gesture of gratitude and respect where the individual learns to build himself from the other, from the here and now”
The artist together with the drawings and canvases, has made an edition of silkscreen prints for this occasion.
It also incorporates ceramic pieces made in collaboration with Pez Volador Cerámica.
