August 24, 2024 to September 27, 2024

In 1926, the Norwegian engineer Erik Rotheim created what was to become the very first patent on aerosol technology, on which today’s modern spray cans are based. In collaboration with Forskningsparken, Norsk Teknisk Museum, Tekna and Quick Bengalack Oslo, Home of the Spray Can is an exhibition of historical objects, archival documentation and curated artworks that celebrates Rotheim’s invention and the art movements to which it gave birth – graffiti and street art.

After the vernissage, the exhibition will be open from 23 August to 27 September from Monday – Thursday (07:30-17:00) and Friday’s (07:30-16:00).

Those of you who’ve been following along will have noticed a name change this year, from Løkka-Lykke gatekunstfest (2021-23) to Oslo Street Art Festival.

This year’s expanded festival takes place across 8 different boroughs from August to October, with dissemination activities for the public such as workshops, guided tours, lectures, film screenings and exhibitions.
