The World’s first of its kind, BLOOP International Proactive Art Festival, since 2011 is the celebration of proactive art from around the world on the streets of Ibiza, a cosmopolitan and international destination.

With its ethos “ART IS FOR EVERYBODY,” the festival, organized by Biokip Labs, offers free, open, and inclusive art experiences, including interactive installations, murals, workshops, parties, exhibitions and more.

BLOOP is completely free and accessible, showcases art that shakes the conventional, and reshapes Ibiza’s cultural landscape paving the way for art events, festivals and fairs that followed this avant-garde initiative. Whilst the wait for the grand anniversary in summer 2025… this 14th consecutive year of Ibiza’s longest-running art event will be a micro edition, blooming in the streets and the digital realm with the theme: THE WAIT.

Urban Art and AI Technology Shine at the 2024 BLOOP International Proactive Art Festival

The 14th consecutive edition of the BLOOP International Proactive Art Festival wrapped up on September 14, 2024, having once again transformed Ibiza into a vibrant, open-air gallery. The festival, which ran from early August, offered a series of interactive events, captivating both locals and visitors alike.

Guided by the ethos of Keith Haring’s famous saying “Art is for everybody” Biokip Labs, under the exclusive artistic direction of Amadama, delivered a series of free, inclusive art experiences. These ranged from expansive murals to interactive installations powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.BLOOP solidified its place as a key event that has reshaped Ibiza’s cultural landscape. While the island has long been known as a party hub, the festival has redefined it as a
destination for art and culture.

Since its inaugural edition in 2011, BLOOP has transformed Ibiza into a dynamic outdoor gallery, offering residents and tourists a rare opportunity to engage with urban art. In 2024, the festival continued this legacy by partnering with the City of Eivissa, alongside institutional collaborators like the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands and the Consell de Eivissa.

Over the years, the festival’s murals, created by renowned international artists such as Okuda, Phlegm, Inti, Ben Eine, Martha Cooper, Amadama, and more have become
permanent fixtures, contributing to the island’s cultural heritage. From one of the most touristic areas, to the historic center of Eivissa, each mural, installation, exhibition told a story of contemporary society, touching on themes of values, lifestyle, politics, technology, and the environment.

This year’s edition featured Amadama as the lead artist, with two key events: “Let’s Get Physical” and “Open-Air.Expo”. Amadama, known for blending traditional art with emerging technologies, showcased his interactive work that merged physical art with AI-powered digital experiences. His innovative approach to urban art that has always spurred debate has garnered recognition, further enhancing the festival’s reputation.

The festival also launched the official BLOOP app, developed by Biokip Labs, which allowed visitors to explore the urban art in real time, access augmented reality (AR)
content, and view pieces from previous editions. Through this app, festival-goers could actively participate by sharing photos and winning exclusive NFT rewards, turning the BLOOP experience into a highly interactive adventure.

The 2024 edition also included the “OpenAir.Gallery”, a collection of murals from past festivals, which offered a journey through the evolution of urban art on Ibiza. In addition, the app provided a complete archive of past events, exhibits, and artworks, allowing users to revisit the 14-year history of BLOOP and celebrate its lasting impact on the island.

As the curtains closed on this year’s edition, BLOOP once again reaffirmed its role as a cultural pillar on Ibiza, blending art, technology, and community engagement to create a truly immersive experience through Proactive Art: Art that makes you “think”.
