The third edition of Cagliari Urbanfest came to an end, with its second part dedicated to the Visual Arts and meetings. Despite the windy and rainy weather, hundreds of people of all ages participated in the events that animated the city’s neighborhoods over four days of exhibitions, guided tours, musical performances and meetings, which ended last week.
The exhibitions Burnout , Nuove Illusioni and Confini , hosted respectively at the Fondazione per l’arte Bartoli Felter, at the Castle of San Michele and at Spazio e Movimento, aroused profound interest and involvement in the large audience that participated in the inaugurations and the day of events hosted at the Castle of San Michele, made possible by the renewed collaboration between the Asteras Association, Orientare and the Municipality of Cagliari.
On the Last Sunday at the Castle was a day full of events: from the guided tour of the Nuove Illusioni exhibition, conducted by the curators Ivana Salis and Barbara Catte and accompanied by the musical sound intervention of the Double Face duo, formed by Francesca Romana Motzo and Francesco Ciminiello, to the presentation of the social photography project Racconti di Sant’Elia curated by Alessandra Cecchetto, to the Urbanfest Talk with artists, curators and cultural operators who discussed a plurality of creative processes and the social role of art and culture in our time.
“ The festival conceived and organized by Asteras – association president Ivana Salis said – once again saw art and community dialogue together, sharing experiences, reflections and visions. This year we had the participation of twenty-five artists who, between Street Art interventions, Visual Arts exhibitions, workshops and musical performances, animated the third edition of the Urbanfest. Our heartfelt thanks go to them, to all the precious partners who support the festival, and to all the people who joined us last October and in recent days.”
Cagliari Urbanfest ended but the collective Nuove Illusioni at the Castle of San Michele, with its 14 artists on display (Luciana Aironi, Maria Francesca Angius, Nicola Caredda, Mara Damiani, Salvatore Delogu, Gavino Ganau, Carlo Laconi, Max Mazzoli, Andrea Milia, Marcello Nocera, Vincenzo Pattusi, Marilena Pitturru, Pietro Straullu, Diego Vargiu), can be visited until February 23rd.
