The Italian pre-summer tour that Alessio “Bolo” Bolognesi is doing across Italy continues. After being in Sardinia here is the work that Bolo made in Osnago, province of Milan, for the fifth edition of the artistic event “La Voce del Corpo (The body’s voice)”, a project conceived by Maestro Bruno Freddi.
“La Voce del Corpo” is a biennial event that crosses and promotes contemporary art in all its forms, with special attention to the performing and live arts at 360 degrees, including street-art.
Alessio worked on a wall of a private building granted by the owners for the realization of the mural “Ottertrash”.
“Ottertrash” is part of the project “Nature defends nature” that our BOLO has been carrying out for the past 2 years and in which it uses animals and the symbologies linked to them to deal with issues that have to do with the relationship – very bad – that human being has with the environment.
The work depicts a river otter that protects his child until he learns to swim. The otter is a creature with a strong maternal instinct, who loves to play and be free. It is also linked to water and to the feminine. This almost idyllic picture is polluted by the waste human beings produce. The otter and its pup swim in fact on a symbolic river made of trash that every second we throw ignorantly in the environment. A bittersweet vision in which the animals try to protect themselves from the devastation we are producing, the main theme of Alessio’s works.
The mural it’s about 7.5 m tall and 6 m large. It was made using both rollers and brushes and spray cans in 2 and a half days of work.
