Fresh mural by talented artist Fabio Petani in Bergamo for Bergamo and Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023. The mural develops on the concept of the force of nature. Spathiphyllum is also a plant with a beneficial action as it absorbs volatile organic compounds and harmful substances such as trichlorethylene, benzene and formaldehyde. Hence the title which sees the contrast between Benzene and the plant that purifies the air from this element.
“Unfortunately, most contemporary urban areas are planned a priori on limiting designs and structured on Euclidean geometric lines and shapes, whose rigidity tends to exclude and reject, unconsciously making those who live there uncomfortable and distancing them from the natural environment.
With the awareness that from plants we can learn different and better attitudes for living in a place by promoting regeneration and rebirth in the name of changing the image we have of the city, to rethink it as an urban jungle, where its inhabitants, not only humans, transform together with the natural environment.” (Cit. Alessandra Ioalè).
