Swinton Gallery presents WOB -White on Black- a group show with thirteen both national and international artists.

“WOB” is a group exhibition that explores the pictorial possibilities of the absence of colorful elements. Art works in black and white, small and medium format, created on different media such as canvas, paper, wood, cardboard, and video .

Backgrounds for every artist participating are diverse, at the same time as their usual artistic discipline and their motivations for them to choose this monochrome speech. For some of them it is a will of austerity and economy, for some others it is the constant pursuit of a minimalist expression .

The exhibition “White On Black” brings together the work of thirteen artists from four continents that work with this basic contrast. The range of styles go from realistic figuration to geometric abstraction, as well as tattoo, ephemeral art, stencil, calligraphy and illustration.
