The BLOOP festival celebrates its sixth edition with the theme NOT FEAR.
BLOOP Festival is the first of its kind as it is entirely dedicate to this proactive art. Every year there is an annual theme which artists from around the world base their aesthetics on. They are usually social issues that we can all relate to. At BLOOP spectators are encouraged by the artworks to “think” proactively on these issues = proactive art.
After 5 consecutive years of BLOOP, for this edition nearly 15 events will take place across the island mainly in Sant Antoni and Ibiza Town. Just to highlight some; BLOOP Headquarters Museum, the soul of the festival packed with art, music, technology and education; OpenAir.Gallery, now there are more than 20 mural paintings across the island; In praise for darkness installation, by Tom Gallant will be exhibited in the cloisters of Ibiza’s city council; in the midst of Brexit the P.I.G.S. exposition by Escuela Moderna/ Ateneo Libertario will take place in Ibiza’s city council’s Refectorio; and lastly the legendary DJ and music producer who coined the sunsets music sessions José Padilla will join BLOOP for the Opening Party at the outdoor amphitheatre at Sa punta des Molí in Sant Antoni.
This year nearly 30 artists from Spain, Italy, UK, Greece, Ukraine, Poland, Australia, Uruguay and other European countries will be participating to interpret the theme: NO FEAR. Digital Genetic Pasta (Italy/Spain), Dominio (Italy/Spain), Escuela Moderna/ Ateneo Liberitario (EU), Gosia Wlodarczak (Poland/Australia), INO (Greece), Interesni Kazki (Ukraine), José Padilla (Spain), Lo Spino (Italy), Pablo Pelluz (Spain), Pelucas (Spain), Pineapple Crocodile (EU), Rebeca Sanchez (Spain), Silva Ramacci (Italy), Stefano Terranova (Italy/UK), The Collective (EU), Tranz Lasagne (Spain), Tom Gallant (UK), Tomás Laurenzo (Uruguay) and more….
