Award winning international festival, Bring The Paint, returns to the streets of Leicester to host the UK’s street art event of the year.
World renowned artists from America, Australia, Tahiti, Mexico, Germany, France, Greece and the UK are transforming Leicester city centre with world-class mural paintings. The festival will bring together 50 street artists with headline internationally acclaimed painters including; SMUG, INKIE, INSANE 51, HOW & NOSM, TASSO, DOES, NOMAD CLAN, FLYING FORTRESS and WON ABC. Supported by Arts Council England, BID Leicester, Leicester City Council, De Montfort University, Montana Cans spray paint, Highcross Leicester and Pistonhead Foundation, Bring The Paint is set to bring international acclaim to a city on the rise.
Inspired by Leicester’s identity as one of the most diverse cities in Europe, this year’s edition of the festival will be about collaboration, bringing together artists from across the world who would not normally meet, and re-imagine this vibrant diverse destination.
The festival will attract 10,000 visitors to the city and paint giant buildings, bring to life vacant retail units, as well as create spectacular 3D floor art. There will be opportunities for children and families to get involved with workshops, music and food & drinks. To top it all off, the organisers will host an art fair, giving people the chance to purchase unique artwork.
Bring The Paint is taking place in Leicester city centre from 20th to 26th May 2019, with the main events happening on Saturday 25th May in the Cultural Quarter and Sunday 26th May at Frog Island / The Mill.
