This is a 21 metre tall depiction of a girl weaving a traditional Serbian rug, celebrating the work that women do, and also trying to highlight the cultural importance of textile arts – something that often is relegated to the pejorative area of “craft”!
It took 9 days to paint in conditions that ranged from snow to blistering sun, all on a very bouncy cherrypicker.
