Is the future HOPELESS? INO`s third appearance in BLOOP Festival of International Proactive Art. The Festival, dedicated to the theme HOPE. For his forth intervention on the isla blanca the Greek artist chose the surfaces of the Design Apartments La Kiki on Sant Josep`s bay, which has already been a canvas for various artists. HOPELESS is a portrait of a girl praying for money. A criticism towards modern societies where happiness is based on materialism, and where big companies and advertising target youth; the most vulnerable part of our society. He asks us whether the future is truly hopeless.
This piece is part of the OpenAir.Gallery, a long-term project to change the urban landscapes of an entire island, and it was one of the frst when it started back in 2011. It truly embodies the festival`s ethos “ART IS FOR EVERYBODY”. Currently, it continues to grow its collection reaching nearly 30 murals and installations sprinkled across Ibiza island. This year, Said Dokins, INO, SpY and Spaik are leaving their contributions.
You may consider a modest donation — however much you can afford, when it comes from the heart, it’s the kind of gesture that makes us warm with appreciation.
