It is a great pleasure to be interviewing a street artist that caught our attention years ago. An Italian passionate stencil creator, goes by the name Alessio-B, who prefers sticking to simple and loving messages. He strikes the chord he knows best. The Love chord!
(ISSA) -What you choose to drink? Coffee, Tea, Beer, Soda or something else?
(AlessioB) – Beer ! absolutely
– Introduce yourself to us !…
– My name is Alessio (aka Alessio-B) an Italian street artist! I live in Padua, a city not far from Venice
– How do you define yourself? Artist? Street artist? Anything else?
As I said … I would call myself a street artist! simply because it is where I started and still love to express my art! the road remains the only means to communicate with the people and the place!
– How did it all start for you, and what is it nowadays?
I think it has always been … since little kid I loved to draw and color, that is the beginning, then by the time the first pieces in the streets, or rather abandoned urban areas and subsequently to the art galleries!
-What is the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
I smile … it will be a great day, no matter what happens!
-Street art is mostly a visually stimulating form of art. To add one more sense to it, what music would you pick to accompany your art work?
I go for sure! rock music mixed with classical music! two musical genres far between, which as they say … “opposites attract”
-In all forms of art, inspiration is crucial. What inspires you?
The inspiration is when you’re not looking! sometimes in a simple conversation between friends, sitting in front of the sea or watching your children play! Every moment can be a source of inspiration … you have to take the signal!
-Before going to paint, what is on your check list to take along?
I do not have a list! I usually fill the backpack with the things that I can use … and the mask spray! that must not be missed if possible!
-Do you have an artist you admire and what for?
More than one … mostly for their style and their work and some I have known well … I always try to learn something from them!
-Which cities do you think are the most inspirational in Street Art?
Every city has its own charm and its own history! Personally I have a great fascination for Paris..!
-What is your wildest project that you dream to achieve some day?
I can not reveal it … would not be feasible! but there !!
-Does your art include symbolisms, messages or repeated patterns?
I like when they enter the work permits of shorthand messages yet incisive!
-What is your reaction when you realise someone has vandalised your creation?
Initially, disappointment! I am aware that not everyone thinks well … and you know that the street art by definition can not last forever intact!
-What do you think people first think or feel when they see one of your works on the street?
I hope to at least give them a moment of happiness … and forget everything that bothers them at least at that moment.
– If you were a world leader what would you change?
Difficult question !! There are so many things that do not work! We definitely need to invest in young children, they are our future, they will be educated leaders of themselves!
-Do you have any interesting creative plans for the future?
I am in a continuous creative project that started many years ago and continuously evolving day by day !!
– It’s been great to get to know more about the mind and person behind such talented and inspiring works. Thank you ! (‘’I Support Street Art’’ team)
– Grazie a voi !! per il vostro lavoro e il continuo supporto !!!
Alessio.
