Mistaker Maker was called by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), to communicate a new positioning for the FPF and the National Team on its way to the 2018 World Cup.
The main objective of the FPF is to work the collective mentality of the Portuguese, to make them feel more capable, more fearless, to show that nothing is impossible and that no one is born a hero. A hero builds himself with work and sacrifice.
This is how the new FPF claim is presented: “Conquest the Dream”.
The paradigm of football is broken by football (and only for those who like football), developing and working on the idea of collective, belonging and daily overcoming. All mottos that are not only applied to football, but to our day-to-day, whether in collective or as an individual.
“Conquest the dream” is clearly a story of overcoming, of resilience, in which the dream without work is pure illusion, assuming still that nothing is as ours as our dreams.
To put this premise into practice, we are involving a group of visual artists, who are at the forefront in what we have the best in Portugal in what urban art (or art in public space) refers to, so that during the period precedes the World Cup, during the month of May, develops a set of interventions by several cities of the Country, from the coast to the interior, from north to south, etc .; that inspire the communities, in a motto of Portugality, that we are all of us.
In this project, the body that oversees the national football hopes to involve local authorities from north to south of the country, and counts on the collaboration of curator Lara Seixo Rodrigues, creator of the project Lata 65, Festival Wool, Estau or Muraliza Cascais.
The group of selected artists includes renowned names and emerging talents of the national urban art, with works elaborated from graffiti to stencil, passing through all the genres, aesthetics and techniques usually referred to as post-graffiti with contemporary influences of figurative illustration.
The pieces and murals to be developed under this project will be unique and unprecedented representations of the “Conquest the Dream” movement, without any profit and with the sole purpose of serving and inspiring the Portuguese, working in a more winning, ambitious and capable collective mentality.
The first artistic intervention, written by AkaCorleone, took place in the heart of Covilhã and the cities of Portimão and Beja followed. This week we will be working in Aveiro and Porto.
Biography of the artist Samina:
He soon had contact with the world of the arts, especially with drawing and painting. At age 14, Samina began her journey in the world of Street Art when she began to draw and paste stickers. He was following the growth of the movement in Portugal and abroad and developing in parallel his work of authorship, always inspired by what he was witnessing in the streets.
It was during this period that she discovered the stencil, and as her ambition as an artist grew, the exploration and mastery of technique became ever greater. He graduated in Architecture and all that he learned about space and its geometries, have become increasingly present ingredients in his creations, which are constant searches of form of expression of his ideas.
His work lies largely in the permanent conflict and / or balance of geometric compositions to which natural human representation adds.
