These fine fresh murals are part of a small tribute to the work of two female artists that just like so many other female artist throughout history have been practically forgotten created by Noe Cor. The series is called “Getrude and Julia” and it is a reinterpretation of photos by Julia Margaret Cameron and Getrude Käsabier, two photographers from the late 19th and early 20th century.
“The murals were hard to paint, the idea of the project is to paint each one in 3 days, but with temperatures close to zero degrees, rain and snow, the time became even shorter.”
Thanks to Le M.U.R. Bourges and Le M.U.R. Strasbourg these walls became possible.
These murals are in the cities of Bourges and Strasbourg, France and will remain for a few months until the next artist does their work in that same place.
Noe Cor is an Uruguayan muralist, currently living in France. Check him out: https://www.instagram.com/_noecor/
