SKOUNT sent us his latest work from the Netherlands for the Millerntor Gallery. Skount’s oneiric masked characters beckon the viewer from the urban environment into their mysterious and playful dreamscapes.
Here a majestic piece of art brings to our attention the importance that water has for life.
Here is the feedback from the artist:
“This wall was painted for “Viva con Agua” at Millerntor Gallery in Maastricht, Netherlands. The mural inspired by the importance of the water for the development of life on Earth and for our spiritual universe. Water is one of those elements that most directly have to do with the possibility of the development of different forms of life. As with the oxygen, water is essential so that both plants and animals, humans and all known life forms can exist.”
Also, in turn, water plays a preponderant role, is one of the four constituent elements of the cosmic and imminent reality: air, water, earth and fire. Water is a major part and vital foundation in all cultures. Symbolically, immersion in the water means the return to a preformal state, with its double meaning of death and dissolution. It cleans and purifies negative and stagnant energy, and brings back the sense of peace and mental clarity.
Therefore water is a symbol of physical renewal, psychic, intellectual fecundity, as well as spiritual purification.”
