TAYONE‘s New intervation for Contorno Urbano in Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain) talks about the margins between humanity and its immediate context, the marginal and the integrated, the mainstream and popular culture, the high and the emergence or responsibility of the artistic subject in our dystopian reality .
Tayone is a visual creator that graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo (Spain) and currently lives in Barcelona where he develops his work mainly around painting, illustration and sculpture, combining workshop work, both digital and analog, with interventions in public space and muralism. His artistic interests range from conceptual to pure plastic in which he investigates geometric abstraction, going through a facet of socio-political criticism or another purely (anti) aesthetic, often with graffiti as background and humor as the main tool.
Tayone exhibited in several galleries and exhibition spaces, participated in several festivals, round tables and art workshops, and auto edited some publications.
He is currently managing the Captcha Clothes textile project.
Tayone describes his intervention:
This intervention is a plastic reflection on the ephemeral nature of urban art. Ironizes about how various forms of expression that occur spontaneously in the public space are eliminated, leaving in some cases the warning that it has just proceeded to erase, as if the walls were reset, in whose layers there is an implicit accumulated memory that we could scan to travel through them.
Starting from this premise, as well as the phenomenon of graffiti erasure that entails a very powerful but sometimes involuntary plastic charge, my intervention proposes to decontextualize the newly painted phrase, elevating it to artistic intervention as a rupture and continuity of the cycle by which the Sant Feliu wall , and by extension the rest of the walls, free or not but potentially susceptible to hold a message, is still freshly painted throughout the year, establishing a dialogue between the previous and next intervention of the 12 + 1 program so that they interrelate .
Project 12+1:
12+1 is a proposal put forward by Kaligrafics and Contorno Urbano in Sant Feliu de Llobregat: 12 artists, 12 months, one wall, one artistic intervention per month and one final exhibition, presenting each of the artists’ unique work.
12+1 is an open-air art gallery, one which changes each month.
A unique vision which problematizes the way we exhibit urban art, and the place of these artworks in the city. https://www.instagram.com/tayone.abz/
