The latest work of one our favourite artist duet is titled ”Dørene Lukkes” and has been freshly painted in Ulsrud station in Oslo, Norway. For two weeks they have been painting the entire Subway station in Oslo. The work was inspired for people going to work every day and getting into the subway train and stepping onto the platform. This brings a surreal feeling, like an elevator that opens in your own apartment.
Every day the subway lady warnes people for the doors that are about to close… ‘Dørene Lukkes’. A phrase that got stuck in the artists’ heads.
The piece tells a story about the difference in adult and child perspective. The adult uses transportation as a means to get to a certain goal, a kid looks at a subway train like a toy and has a next thing to be excited about.
By trying to portray that kind of excitement into color and form,Telmo and Miel hope to bring a little extra brightness to people passing through Ulsrud. Closing the door on the rush for a moment. Like a cat taking a seat on your laptop while you are working, nothing to bother for too much.
