A large street art mural has been painted on the exterior of Beacon Charter High School at 320 Main Street in Woonsocket, RI.
Titled “Profiles in Courage”, the 22′ x 25′ mural features a smart, self-assured young girl standing with her hands on her hips, ready to take on the world. (Woonsocket’s own Fearless Girl!) Behind her are three profiles of students, with a graphic representing the rays of a beacon, like a lighthouse. The background was painted in Beacon’s school
colors of Orange, Blue, Gray, and Navy Blue. The large profile on the right features Beacon’s motto “Accept, Create, Achieve”.
The Artists chosen to design and paint this mural are Bonnie Lee Turner and Charles C. Clear III of THE ART OF LIFE, in Lincoln, RI. The pair have been painting murals since 1992, and have painted many murals in Rhode Island and beyond. More works can be seen on our website.
Work on the “Profiles in Courage” took place over two weeks and was completed on August 19, 2021.
The latest picture of the new work of street art that celebrates not only the students but the wonderful and diverse community of the city of Woonsocket, RI!
